Government confirms opposition to fracking amid local concern

The government has reiterated its opposition to fracking, ahead of a proposed development of an LNG terminal.There’s been major concern locally, as Love Leitrim protested in Dublin against the introduction of fracked gas imports.Minister for Rural and Community Development Heather Humphreys responded to a question from Labour leader Ivana Bachik to clarify Ireland’s stance in the Dail this afternoon.Minister Humphreys says they are planning for all eventualities, including storage facilities for LNG:
