Government talks called to address North West infrastructure
A Sligo Councillor is urging that the current talks around the formation of a new government should be conscious of the need of major infrastructure upgrades in the North West. While the former Green Party leader and outgoing transport minister Eamon Ryan being accused of allowing roads investment to drift, senior sources in in Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael have recently indicated a change in this area is now being considered. It's widely expected that the new government will be more supportive of road building and that there will be a smoother capital programme to deliver local, regional and national roads. The detail of how roads investment will be overhauled is likely to be debated over the coming days as the talks continue.Ballymote Tubbercurry Councillor Paul Taylor says this opportunity to upgrade local infrastructure must be grasped.
