Graham Dwyer loses final Supreme Court appeal

Graham Dwyer has lost his appeal to overturn his conviction for the murder of Elaine O'Hara.His appeal was allowed by the Supreme Court, as they found it centred on significant issues of general public importance.Dwyer, who's family originally come from Sligo, appealed his sentence on the grounds that his rights under the European Charter of Fundamental Rights were breached, following the retention of his mobile phone data as evidence in the original case.However, the Supreme Court has unanimously ruled this morning that the evidence in question was admissable in the trial.Nine years on from his original life sentence, Dwyer must now return to prison having exhausted all avenues of appeal.
