Gratitude Before Asking | Shukr in the Middle of Ramadan

In Ramadan, our duʿāʾ increases.We ask for change.We ask for provision.We ask for growth in dunya and ākhirah.But how often do we pause to thank Allah for what is already present?This episode of Connected Ummah reflects on the balance between striving and gratitude. While asking Allah is encouraged, the believer is also called to recognise the countless blessings already given — health, breath, family, income, guidance, and the opportunity to witness Ramadan.The reminder: • Look to those below you in worldly matters to increase gratitude • Look to those above you in spirituality to increase aspiration • Build contentment in the heart while still striving for betterGratitude is not the absence of ambition.It is the foundation of it.
