Guntersville Fishing Report March 2025: Bedding Bass, Slabs & More
from Lake Guntersville, Alabama Fishing Report Today · host Inception Point AI
Hey y'all, Artificial Lure here with your Lake Guntersville fishing report for March 31, 2025. The weather's been a bit unpredictable lately, but today we're looking at partly cloudy skies with highs around 70°F and a light breeze from the southwest. Sunrise was at 6:32 AM and sunset will be at 7:06 PM, giving us plenty of daylight to work with. Now, being a landlocked lake, we don't have tides to worry about, but water levels have been holding steady around 594 feet. The Corps of Engineers has been running some current through the dam, which has really fired up the fish activity. Speaking of fish, the bass bite has been on fire. Anglers have been reporting limits of 20+ pounds, with several trophy largemouths in the 7-9 pound range being caught. The spawn is in full swing, with bass on beds all over the lake. We're also seeing some post-spawn fish starting to show up. Crappie fishing has also been excellent, with some nice slabs being pulled from brush piles in 8-12 feet of water. Catfish action has been steady, especially for those night fishing with cut bait. For lures, you can't go wrong with a soft plastic like a Senko or lizard for those bedding bass. Chatterbaits in white or chartreuse have also been producing well when worked through the grass. For finesse fishing, a shaky head worm in green pumpkin has been money. If you're looking for live bait, shiners and nightcrawlers have been the ticket for bass and crappie respectively. As for hot spots, I'd recommend checking out the grass beds around Seibold Creek or working the ledges near South Sauty Creek. The bridge pilings at the Highway 431 causeway have also been holding some good fish. Remember folks, the fish are shallow right now, so don't be afraid to get up in that skinny water. And if you're sight fishing, be patient and persistent. These big girls can be stubborn, but they're worth the wait. That's all for now, y'all. Get out there and wet a line! This is Artificial Lure, signing off. Tight lines and good fishing! This content was created in partnership and with the help of Artificial Intelligence AI.
