In the least visible part of the department I cared for a man that was having an acute stroke and deteriorated right before my eyes. Today I unpack what happened, what I learnt, what could have been done better and most importantly what was done well. We go through the basics of strokes and how to diagnose a potential stroke in the community and the steps needed to ensure fast and effective treatment and management.
