He Thinks Abortion Should Be Legal (Trending with Timmerie)

from The Best of the Week · host Relevant Radio

Have you had encounters with people who are pro-abortion? Were they fruitful conversations?   Timmerie and pro-life advocate Dr. Rebecca Peck spoke to Hector, a caller who believes abortion should be legal. They had a pretty engaging conversation!   You can hear the entire episode with Dr. Rebecca Peck here, where she shares her own journey of healing from having an abortion.    Hector, who was raised Catholic, called in and shared that while he respects different opinions, he’s all about freedom of having an abortion. He thinks that this shouldn’t be a black-and-white issue, saying every situation is different. He believes that women shouldn’t be guilt-tripped for choosing abortion.   Timmerie, while staying respectful, pushed back, saying it’s not just a political issue; it’s about life and death. She pointed out that abortion doesn’t just "solve" problem; it hurts moms and ends the life of a baby. She also asked Hector if he’s had any personal experience with abortion, wondering if his frustration is rooted in his own painful story. 😔   Hector admitted it had personally affected him, and it seemed like he was really feeling the weight of the issue. He brought up a big concern: what happens to moms and kids who struggle financially? Where’s the support for them?   Timmerie totally agreed that we need more support for women, and she brought up that pregnancy resource centers are already doing incredible work. They're helping with housing, tuition, even cars! 🚗 She pointed out that choosing life doesn’t mean leaving moms out to dry—there’s help out there, and it’s life-giving.   And here’s where it got really personal: Timmerie told Hector that he could be forgiven for helping with that abortion. 💔 She could hear his anger and pain, and she told him, “You don’t have to carry this anymore.” She invited him to go to confession, to come back to his Catholic roots, and to find healing. She also made it clear that God forgives everything. 🙏 Powerful reminders!    Dr. Rebecca Peck knows the pain of being post-abortive. She had two abortions before 25, and it led to a lot of regret and brokenness. She explained how she found healing through confession and working with other women in similar situations. Her message was clear: abortion doesn't fix a thing. It just adds more pain. 😢 She also called out the push for extreme abortion laws, like allowing abortion up until birth. That’s not something anyone should be okay with. 😳   The takeaway? We need to stand for human dignity, protecting the woman and her baby. 👶❤️ Even in tough moments of disagreement, this conversation reminds us that there’s room for healing, forgiveness, and building a culture of life together.   At the end of the day, it’s all about supporting life and showing that there are better options than abortion. Let’s choose life and help each other out along the way. 💪     The best way to listen to the Best of the Week is on our #1 Free Catholic App. It’s free, and always will be!
