De Heren van Stand, Gordon Cruden en Vito Bourne, in gesprek met de minister van Buitenlandse Zaken, Internationale Business en Internationale Samenwerking van Suriname, de heer Albert Ramdin. Tijdens het gesprek wordt ingegaan op het buitenlandse- en diasporabeleid van de regering van president Chandrikapersad Santokhi alsmede de politieke actualiteit in Suriname. Albert Ramdin werd op 16 juli 2020 beëdigd tot minister van Buitenlandse Zaken, Internationale Business en Internationale Samenwerking. Op 21 juni werd hij daarnaast benoemd tot voorzitter van het Cariforum, een groep van landen in de Caribische Gemeenschap die onderhandelingen voert met de Europese Gemeenschap. Albert Ramdin werd in 1997 benoemd tot Surinames permanente vertegenwoordiger bij de Organization of American States (OAS). In 1999 werd hij assistent secretaris-generaal voor buitenlandse betrekkingen en gemeenschapsrelaties bij Caricom; ambassadeur van Suriname bij de OAS; en niet-residerend ambassadeur van Suriname voor Costa Rica.  Met ingang van 1 september 2001 werd hij adviseur van de secretaris-generaal van de OAS, Cesar Gaviria. In zijn nieuwe functie hield hij zich met name bezig met het Caribisch gebied en met de herstructurering van de OAS. In september 2004 werd hij ambassadeur in algemene dienst en bijzonder adviseur van de Surinaamse regering inzake vraagstukken betreffende het Westelijk Halfrond. Op 7 juni 2005 werd Albert Ramdin gekozen tot assistent secretaris-generaal van de OAS, als opvolger van de Amerikaan Luigi Einaudi.
