On this episode, we are exploring the connection between heritage conservation and economics with Glenn Murray. As an urban strategist, Glen Murray is best known for his vision to build culturally-dynamic urban centers. He was a two-term mayor of the City of Winnipeg and was the first chair of the Big City Mayor’s Caucus in 2002. He was also the Chair of the National Roundtable on the Environment and Economy under Prime Ministers Martin and Harper. As President and CEO of the Canadian Urban Institute, Glen led the development of new tools for financing municipal infrastructure. Glen founded AuthentiCity a practice to help communities understand and achieve culture-led regeneration of places and spaces. He held five cabinet portfolios in the Ontario government and was a Fellow in the faculty of Architecture and Landscape Design and a Distinguished Visitor at Massey College at the University of Toronto.
