Good evening. Rhode Island. I'm Michael Mosby. We're sitting in the calm right now, a quiet Sunday is on deck. But a powerful storm is targeting us for Monday, enjoy the break while it lasts. As the sun sets. Tonight turns clear and cold, providence drops to 29 degrees, while the Bay Area holds at 30. Northwest winds gust to 25 miles an hour early, then relax by sunrise. Sunday brings a mix of sun and clouds, it feels like mid-March finally. Providence reaches 46 degrees, with the Bay hitting 43, northeast winds keep it brisk. High tide at Newport hits at 22 degrees:23 P.M, if you're heading to the coast. Here's where things get interesting, rain arrives after 1 A.M. Sunday night. It becomes steady by Monday morning, you'll see one to two inches of rain. Locally heavier amounts are possible in thunderstorms. Monday is windy and mild, temperatures surge to 60 degrees in Providence. The Bay reaches 54. But watch out. A High Wind Watch is in effect for Monday night, south winds could gust to 60 miles an hour. That's enough to cause power outages. The storm clears out Tuesday morning. Sunshine returns. But it turns colder, highs crash to the mid 40s. Tuesday night features a deep freeze, lows fall to 22 degrees in Providence. And 24 along the water. Wednesday stays chilly under mostly sunny skies, highs only reach 38 degrees. We moderate slightly for Thursday and Friday, highs climb back to the mid 40s. Looking ahead, the week starts wild but ends quiet, while monday brings heavy rain and damaging wind gusts. Tuesday turns much colder and blustery, mid-week features seasonable chill and sunshine.
