The Grandfather of wine in the Grampians, Viv Thomson from Best’s Wines in Great Western joins us in this episode to have a chat about the phenomenal history of grape growing and winemaking in the Grampians region that dates back over 170 years.  The Best Brothers, Henry & Joseph planted the vines in two of the biggest Grampians Wineries in the region, Best’s and Seppelt Wines, also located in Great Western. Viv’s father purchased Best’s Wines in 1920 and Viv started his own career in the vineyards as a child in the 1940’s.   Viv witnessed the resurgence of the Australian wine industry from the 1960’s and 70’s as the food and wine scene developed and continues to grow worldwide. Viv has shared some amazing stories, please tune in to gather some information to share over your next bottle of Grampians Wine.
