Hopes Sligo train will be prioritised in transport police plans

It's hoped that the Sligo train will be prioritised in any rollout of a dedicated transport police. Anti-social behaviour has been a major issue on the Connolly to Sligo service for some time. Transport Minister Darragh O'Brien has indicated that he wants to see legislation fast tracked on introducing a security force for public transport.Last year saw a pilot introduced to tackle anti-social behaviour and earlier this year, the Government committed to it full time.Sligo Leitrim Sinn Fein TD Martin Kenny says the idea of a transport police has been talked about for some time and its time action was taken:
