As we continue to look at the formal charges and the coming judgment of Israel, we come across some great lessons. Lessons that can be applied to our lives now.

Israel had a divided heart. It is impossible to have a divided heart and walk with God.

Israel had forgotten that God had delivered them from Egypt. They forgot the tender care and compassion that God had extended towards them. They forgot that God has stooped down and provided for them. We must never forget the love, grace and mercy that God has extended to us in Christ.

They did not fear God. The fear of God is good. It brings knowledge, wisdom and safety. Any time we lose our fear of God, disaster is certain. Any nation that loses its fear of God is a nation that is heading towards destruction.

All of this is here for our learning. May we all learn the great message and warnings contained in the book of Hosea.
