HOUR 1 - Penguins need to pick lane, World Cup Minute, Robert Tiffin

A couple of topics tickled Poni’s mind to start today’s show. To start, he wants the Penguins to pick a lane. They should attack this free agency period as a rebuilding team or as a team that wants to go for the Stanley Cup. Are fans against the Penguins going after Jason Robertson? Can they do both at the same time? Poni also brought up the World Cup win for Team USA last night that came with controversy when one of their best players was given a red card early in the second half, which will also keep him out for the Round of 16 matchup against Belgium. He said for a country that isn’t very into the sport, everyone became an expert with that call. How much is Pittsburgh into the World Cup? Stars reporter Robert Tiffin from Stars Thoughts dot com joined the show. Robert was here to give us the latest on what is happening with Jason Robertson. Robert said there are very few players that can score more than Robertson, so the price would be high in a trade, possibly including Bryan Rust along with a few 1st round picks. Robert doesn’t know if Erik Karlsson back to Dallas would help the trade go through, but he does have some things in his favor. Robert expects Robertson to end up back in Dallas. Robert listed the number of teams that have been rejected by Robertson and/or the Stars so far. Percentage chance Robertson isn’t a Star when next season begins? 20%.
