Summary
260,000 people have died as a result of the conflict between the left wing guerrilla FARC group and the Colombian State in over 50 years of conflict. An estimated 6 million have been displaced. So why was a recent referendum on a peace deal between the two rejected by a margin of less than 1%? The answer is complex. I spoke to the "Camping for Peace" movement which is in the centre of Plaza de Bolivar in Bogota to try and gain some additional insight.
