It's weird how life works.  Back before I became a Dad, and was single, there were two things I absolutely dreaded: Going grocery shopping Folding laundry Since having kids, every Saturday, I used to take one of them with me to Walmart to grocery shop.  Taking both was like herding cats, so would leave one home with Amanda.  Well, life happens, and I am know a single Dad, I now take them both.  Like the sun rises in the East, every Saturday morning, the three of us hit Walmart to grocery shop. Here's the thing: There is a closer Walmart to the house.  In fact, there are two other grocery stores just a mile from the house. However, we travel to the further one.  Why is that?   A lady by the name of Evelyn, who works at the bakery.  A sweet, sweet lady who treats Ava & Ashton like her own.  These pictures were snapped yesterday.  We have not seen her since before Christmas, as she was traveling to the Philippines to visit her Mom, we were at Disney last weekend, etc.  This is why we pass two other grocery stores, and another Walmart every Saturday morning.  She gives them a treat (yesterday was a chocolate frosted donut) when we stop by to say hi.  This lady is a hard worker.  She works at the local high school, Mon - Fri, from 7:00 - 2:00.  Then she heads to Walmart to work 2:30 - 10:00 four days during the week, and works the Saturday morning shift.  She has Sundays off, from both jobs.  Customer service/experience is what keeps people buying from you again and again and again.  Too many people focus on acquisition, and not enough time/money/energy on their current customers.  Here is a startling statistic that I share often that I read years ago. According the the Harvard Business Review:  Increasing customer retention rates by 5%increases profits by 25% to 95% I yap about this a lot, but I send hand written thank you cards to people who invest in my Facebook ads course.   What can you do to provide a delightful experience for your customers?

Back before I became a Dad, and was single, there were two things I absolutely dreaded:

  1. Going grocery shopping
  2. Folding laundry

Since having kids, every Saturday, I used to take one of them with me to Walmart to grocery shop.

Taking both was like herding cats, so would leave one home with Amanda.

Well, life happens, and I am know a single Dad, I now take them both.

In fact, there are two other grocery stores just a mile from the house.

However, we travel to the further one.

Why is that?
