What can we do instead of offering solutions? When someone shares their problems with us, we can listen actively, showing we understand and care about what they're going through. We can ask open-ended questions to help them explore their feelings and thoughts more deeply. Offering empathy, like saying "That sounds really tough" or "I'm here for you," makes them feel supported and not alone. Sometimes, just being there and offering a shoulder to lean on or an ear to listen is what they need the most. Sharing our own similar experiences, without overshadowing their situation, can also help them feel understood and connected.

Siddhartha in the book is the son of a respected Brahmin priest and leaves the comfort and security of his home to seek the meaning of life. His close friend, Govinda, joins him and the two wander as mendicants seeking alms and spiritual guidance.
