Well, hi everyone and welcome to the Nodia not podcast is a very podcast and it's hosted by all the nerds I am when you're awesome and I am the other horse Sam. I was gonna say some Apple you did say some No, why maybe I was gonna get there because Chris was doing weird things from these pencil Yes, I am the other horse Paul and we are joined by not just our little minion that is Chris We have two new guests two special people that uh, it's it's like secret service stuff So we've got a little graphic for them as well, but yes, we are joined by aunt and nail from the horror roulette podcast It's actually some and Sam To Some Yes, so Gritfully accepted our invitation to join us on tonight's podcast Nearly the end of the year where we've done a few different changes where we decided me and some you were gonna pick our favorite films of the year So this week's my pick so we'll get into that in a second, but yeah with it being their first time So can you guys give us your nerdy credentials? Tell us a little bit about yourselves and where people can find you Yeah, we are horror roulette podcast. Thank you so much for having us by the way.
I'm nelly. I'm the obnoc chris sculptor And I think you self-proclaimed funny fucker. Yeah And fuck yeah, I'm back to a teller. Yeah production doer as well.
Yeah Um, the music for the podcast. Yes, Anthony is the behind scenes guys and I'm the social media person Um, but we you guys can find us on spotify in any way that you listen to podcast Uh, we spin a wheel and that's what tells us what film that we review. Yeah, we are a couple And we just have that probably that fight every Friday night We don't know what to watch because there's so many good films out there and shit So we made a wheel and for oh, they're really good actually for a podcast that if we just have a load of wheels and we spun them And then we had to talk about the film because we do that anyway, doesn't everyone do that? Showed out to find something that's probably the relationship I got in my house There's a cinema going and don't even mention how they like to it There's a corner just like Yeah, don't want to be friends of those people.
No, we like spinning wheels. We get films We were actually bound by the wheel as well. So it's oh, yeah, there's no magic. There's no all we want to do this this week It's whatever we get we have to do the only time we've ever really cheated the system quote unquote is our birthdays So we put all of our films that we wanted to talk about on a wheel and we do it for a month And that's the way that we kind of purge everything that we wanted to talk about very true Wasn't it last month as well wasn't it?
We got some great ones however, I'm still waiting for screen so Yeah So how did you start out though? What was like what was the catalyst to start the horror Podcast me and Ellie have known each of her for 25 years, right? And we've always loved horror we were the kids at the granny show supernatural, you know when When he will get sexy or something Yeah, I remember it all I remember falling in love with just mates won't me We just want to talk supernatural and then we watched like random films when we were allowed on a VHS like fucking combies And then we just chat about it school and school together college together Then we finally got together and then we had a massive gap didn't we like seven or eight years where we didn't see each other I'm my bad And then when we got back together I became a stepdad and also we realized we still love Torah and we didn't talk about it And we just sat on the sofa one night couldn't choose what to watch and then we did the wheels etc And that's all we did really is it was never a let's start podcast So we've got a podcast so we can talk to people online and share our opinion It was always just let's just do it for us and have fun. Yeah, people like it.
People like it's such a cliche thing to say But it's so it's the truth way it's gonna say it anyway, so why not Yeah, true I've got this recording stuff in my house because I'm a musician so I just have it in my house all the time I'm not so use it more because I wasn't making a lot of music at the time. No, it sounds like a good I kind of send it to like my main summit except from the relationship part We went to college together We went to college together 20 years During lockdown I nearly had a nervous breakdown so I needed a creative outlook so I created an earlier north And some of you came along went I want to be involved this can't we do a podcast now and no That part is true But we initially set up as a we were just gonna do a website something that I've done before in the past And I was like I want to be involved in this and then I was like how about we do a podcast and you just went no No, I was like come on so I give up actually idea to room and then I went but you have to figure everything out technically I got the idea but you have to do everything else since then and that's pretty much how it's taken on that's yeah That's how dynamic has worked for five years. Yeah, then we brought people like we brought people in my Chris as well Who kind of adds to it and takes the workload off my shoulders quite a little even though I hate he's good See he is quite useful. Oh, thanks Yeah Yes I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I really like the I I like the I I like the I I I I I I I I I I I I always say that there's no such thing as a vampire film that's not gay.
However, this one, it might be a little bit gay, but it's not, it's not like what it is, like it's not a lot of boys. It's not an end to me. Yeah, it's not a lot of boys. It's not an interview with the vampire.
There's no one there that I'm going to band each other and go for it. Absolutely. But like with this one, it's very much like it's about the colonization and everything like that. So I think that's why you've made such a great fantasy because it's so rooted in the actual world.
But I understand that this film was fucking sexy. Like, it loses like from like anything that was literally at those times. Like, as I said, before here, the Stan's Field, like before this, we've seen as a kid, as a young girl, you don't really look at her like that. But she grows up as Mary and like becomes, I'm not going to say like a star, iconic in this movie.
That's the thing. This is her, basically, standing out saying, oh, I've done other things. Like, I know Marvel was probably thinking that she was going to be a big Rick fuck Marvel now. This is what we expect.
We kind of like, but everyone in this movie, like, oh God, like everything from like the language, the talk. And as Chris said, Delta Slim, the first introduction to him, this, this boozed up, like blues singer playing a harmonic. And he's just like, ton, ton, shit. But then he's like, oh, do you play that boy?
And he's like, yeah, he's a big thing. And the switch. It's like, yeah, if you, if you're definitely in my spot, it's just like, you could even be in the car as well. And it's how his friends were killed.
And then it's just like, I'm banging along and like, come on. Every single character is somebody that you feel for. Even the vampires, even like, you meet them. And you're just like, oh my God, I know these, like, I know what exactly what you're trying to do.
I have a question about the vampires. I know they're hive minds. So are they all musically gifted? You, Chris asked that the other day.
I'm not going to get the instruments from as well. Yeah, where's his camera coming from? How is everyone so gorgeous? But to be fair, Sammy's got a perfect answer that she tells us every time we question anything.
Give us the answer, Sammy. It's movie magic. It's movie magic. Yeah, I think I said the same to Chris.
He was like, where did they get the instruments from? That's what you're taking away from all of this is like, where did they get the instruments from? I had to find you all these asks. That's what I had to ask.
That's what I had to ask as well. Do you know when Remick comes to the door, how does he think he will get into the club by playing pick, Boa Robin Queen, you know, that kind of joint? I don't think he was trying to do it. No, I think he was trying to entice them with his Irish charm.
I think he was trying to do it with his job, begale them. And obviously he'd got, which one was it? I'm sure he got stuck. And then smoke was like, no, I thought this, I didn't end up going in.
He didn't play away points. And he was like, oh, yeah, they're pretty good actually, these white folks. Just like the reverse racism. Yeah.
But then of course he starts to go down. Yeah, yeah. He's like, oh, is it because we're on the taxes hand. We believe in equality.
I love that so much. You could walk away slowly in case you change your mind. That's so funny. I think it's a taunt.
I thought he was a taunt. And I also think that we're going to walk away slowly. It's also like the idea, you sort of thing. Like a tester, like a fantasy.
See what storans you've got? Are you going to be the balls stand up to us or just like the core type thing. Yeah, well, I think there's a lot of people when this came out and they were like, oh my God, they were quite good. Like for vampires, they wanted equality.
And I was just like, no, Remington has been controlled. Remington knocked on their door and used a racial slur because he saw a clan sword behind them. And he said, whatever he needed to use. He's a manipulative bastard.
To get himself access to that house. And he did the same thing at the juke joint. He did whatever he could have used equality. He used whatever he had.
You know, it's all like, man-arism is to try and make sure. I'm not a friend. It's not a comic. He's got some great pageantry.
It's like fear production. He's just always performing something, isn't he? I don't know how no one's done. Sammy!
Sammy! That house no one's done that. I said, Remington's sweet. No, yeah, but the ark, no, no!
Sammy! Can I have a camera with this or supernatural that you're doing that? Well, it's not Conor McConan, that's fine. Oh, my God, no one's!
I'll be square-all, it's fine. But as you said with Remington, it was such a massive manipulate. I noticed when I watched the Back to Deer, when he was talking about his wife had a wedding ring on as well. I was like, again, it's just, it's the deal.
And I think this is what the mood, what moody gets more than anything, is the finer details of things. But when, like, before, when kind of Remington summoned by the music, this is the scene I was talking about, could have went horribly wrong. When, like, Preacher Boy starts singing, and God does he sing. And literally when you get the voice over and starts talking about, like, you're waking the dead and it goes from the past in the future.
And it kind of goes through, showing this massive party and elements from, like, say, Black Culture in the past and Black Culture. Now, in the 80s, 90s, all the different elements, I was like, oh, that could have not hit the right notes. That might have fell out of place with the type of movie this is, because it was very much rooted in the 90s, like, 90s, 30s type vibe. I was like, that could have easily taken you out with the fantasy.
Yeah, we came out with cinema and that's been a bit utter animate. What the fuck was that? It's exactly what Chris said. That is exactly what Chris said.
I was like, well, this is the transcendent through time. And he was like, I get that's on the why. Yeah, I get the wizardry. It's like a fucking, he's calling to all his ancestors.
But why? I know. It was, I thought it was really beautiful. Oh, she's the first time I was just like, I was just fucking jamming.
I'm not going to lie to you guys. That makes me cry. Like, it gives me goosebumps. I had tears in my eyes.
I was like, this is magic. What the fuck? I was so like, this is this one. I hadn't already ruined its way into my soul this bit.
It absolutely like captured me. I just think that I'm going to say. I know. But I'll wait the answer.
But I like the idea on having the balls to put that in and there as well. Like, right? Well done. Like, as I said, that could have went horribly wrong and just taking you out of the whole fantasy and going, well, I'm watching now.
And again, when you go back to the end and after credits, like stuff as well, it kind of leans into that with like where they are then. And I think even like, maybe John's character makes the comments in. I don't like your electric stuff. I like all the real stuff and stuff.
And I was like, oh, I kind of got that fly back. But yeah, I would have it with me. I was like, referring to him. I am.
See, I didn't enjoy that. But it was it could do so, Chris. I could just call it a post credit scene. Like, when he's in and Sam is that old, I didn't enjoy that both times.
I was just like, they could have just ended it within playing and he's old and it was beautiful. And that's it. Just finish off. I don't know what that was trying to do because Ryan could go to school mat and say, this film is a full meal.
This is, you should be done with it. There's going to be no sequel. This is all I wanted to do with it. And if there is a sequel, I don't think it'd be attached to it at all.
It's something on its own. Straight away. I'm going to call it a piece of shit because he's an artist and he's an artist. Yes, he is an artist.
Sorry. But I think that post credit scene, people can read it as, oh, now he's in the modern day. We're going to get a modern day. He's saying, please fuck off.
No, this is perfect. I don't want them to ruin it. I don't want them to do too much of it. This film is perfect.
So what do you want to say that, Chris? So I get that scene. I get that he's challenged channeling these answers and stuff. It's got like the journey through time backwards.
I told you get that. But the guy with the guitar that came in, he reminded me of, have you ever seen the goofy movie? Yeah, absolutely. I'm parlaying from there.
The rock star from that. I was like, what is he not going to vote in this joint for? Like, it did take it out for me. I get the scene and I took away the message from it.
But I was like, if that wasn't in, to me, it wouldn't have took it out for us. You know who I think it was referencing? I do think it was like a reference to Jimi Hendrix, but I don't think the public's got to be able to get a microphone. Yeah, you can't even read it.
I've read it. Yeah, even if it was Jimi Hendrix himself came on. And then when it took his own way, because I'm like, I understand the past, but I don't understand the future. Right.
So, I don't want to talk about that for you as well. Yeah, I was right. I'm in. I'm in.
It was a spell. This is what it is. It's a spell and it's calling upon, like, time is a circle. It doesn't, it's no like linear that he draws it all in that's going around him.
And that is why Remic is so desperate to get his dirty little hands on him. Or Ryan Google, until smoke the fattest joint and just fall fuck it. I've got money. Exactly.
But no, it's the piece and the veil between life and death is the symbolicant of the whole place, burn and down. And, you know, the past and future starting to come together and there's so much symbolism in this movie. It's to break it down in the time that we've got wouldn't do it any justice whatsoever. No, but look, the religious symbols in this.
Like, I think Remic's the biggest religious symbol in this because he's been through, he was chest eyes, my Christians, wasn't he? Yeah. And then that line at the end, which I definitely don't know the better. But it's, you reference it, it's like, even though those people tormented me, that line stuck with me.
Yeah. And it basically is based his entire journey off that one thing, even if they're like really fucked him up and that's a trauma. It's stuck with him because he wanted to see his family again. It's Remic, really?
He just wants to see his family again. Look, he's a great, but he is a sympathetic prick. Yeah. Isn't all the best ones are, though?
That's the thing. Yes. Definitely. I want my villain to have a heart.
I want my villain to have a soul. Like, I need that in a villain. I need contact city. Yeah.
It's always that. It's just like, I understand that you're going to die with my once, but my once a great thing yours because I'm me. Yeah. Because let's be honest, like the true villains of this film is the KKK when they come on.
That's it. That's the message. I love that thing. I love that thing so much.
It is such a fuck. Yes, moment. Like, especially when it's like the whole plan is like just going to a corner. How it should and he really is winning.
He's killing all these fucking horrible people. Yes, I love that scene. He's got so many fucking holes in him at the end. I think I've got a stroke of phobia.
But then it's the moment of seeing Annie and his unborn child. And I didn't know. I'm quite open. Oh, I am a prior to and that really, really got me.
Annie is my favourite character in this movie. Yeah. I have not spoken about Annie and we need to. And we need to because that woman is.
Everybody has a power house as well. Like, she's the plot hole for those. She's just a number set of empires. Everyone get ready and gather around.
What is it? I need to tell you. What did she call them at first? Before she be a electric band, I had to just call them a haint.
I was like, what is that? I love that. I want to know more about what they are. Chris, Chris, what's it all?
Yeah, it's just like a spirit, like a demonic spirit. And how do you know this? They hate so. Yes, I guess.
I can't like pick up stuff like that. And I'm like, I need to Google what a haint is. Because I just like it held the word just like she did say it was a hint. And everyone was just like, yeah, she's the expert.
I was going without it. Because she knows about this stuff. And then, and then eventually actually the nod to hate was my mistake. It was a vampire.
Yeah. Well, it's interesting with Annie as well. I know like, with Chris being careful with wives. They don't actually mention what her kind of beliefs are.
And all the likes it shows that she's like doing some kind of like like. She's spiritual. That's what I got from it. She was very spiritual, very grounded in her roots.
Yeah. But they didn't act like it's so easy for them to go to went off. It's this or that. It was like, she's got this.
And I say when you find out her and likes the relationship at the start. And when she puts a hand on his chest and says, oh, you've still got that bag. I thought that was quite a powerful moment as well. But we're the kind of like connect as well because they're kind of bonded through trauma with what they've been through in the past.
That's kind of like a relationship that lasts the end of time as well. Yeah. It doesn't matter where in the world they are or what happens in the world. They always felt they would end up or be with each other.
Yeah. I built an relationship. I was obsessed with those two. Like you were talking about how sexy this film is earlier.
And I think they're their connection. They're like when they are having sex early on in the film, I was like, my God. I was like, wow, look at that. I averted my eyes.
It's disgusting. It was, you know what? It was their relationship was so real. Yeah.
And they were very honest with each other, like possibly too honest for the age of a sex. Do you want it? Really? It really was.
The line was like, you're worried you didn't forget me. I was like fuck. Oh, yeah. They're back and forth.
I think it wasn't like a woman for a man's charm. She knew this. I'll work. Yeah.
She knew it. She knew how sexy she was. Literally as soon as she said like, if your body hasn't forgotten, I was like, oh my God. And then you got fucked in doggy and it's all went down.
Honestly, I was like, I mean, you've given me a wide on what I like. I'm not that hard. Well, it's a sense of yeah, guys. It was like, that's fine.
I'm probably going to show them content. I'm probably going to show them content one though. But it wouldn't be our first. It's okay.
Again, again, like that's one point as well. The women in this as well were all powerful. Like, like you've got to have a grist show or even Mary. The all near the well.
Like, I loved grist show and the upper that was, um, or was relationship. Um, that just like, because I have to be honest, like, if you're doing relationships or couples from that time, they're not exactly going to be the most healthy or most like nicely just depicted. But their relationship was so well done. And she clearly wears the trousers as well.
Yes. Definitely the boss. Oh, 100% because when he's demanding her to come outside, she's like, no, bitch. Absolutely not.
It's funny. She actually likes over-dramatic. Yes. Okay, I'll move now.
It's like, come in, you motherfuckers. I'm just like, oh, she's a bad bitch. Yeah, she is a bad bitch. I have just read something really interesting that has blew my tiny hungover mind that I am going to have to share it with you all.
So Ryan Kugler is, he's talked about the influence of the music influence of this film. And the band that he names as the influence is fucking crazy. It's my favorite band of all time. Was it YTZ?
Metallica. Metallica was on his mind when he was laying out the story, rhythms and beats. And he says, I wanted the movie to have the simplicity and oh, Jesus Christ, blind, dyslexic and hungover simultaneously. Yes.
And simultaneously and profound nature of a dark blue song. But I wanted to have contrast vibration and the equilibrium of a great Metallica song, like one he says. One is a signature song from the band's 98 album, just for all. It starts off with almost an easy listening solo.
You know, you know, this is literally Ryan talking, you know what I'm saying. And then it goes batshit and saying. And a way you could have been, you couldn't have seen it coming at the time. It felt like it was just going along.
So that's Ryan's. I just think I just make a bit more sense. It gets a little bit more interesting. The movies.
I mean, do it. Let's do it. Lars Ulrich is the actual credited drummer on the music score. Really?
Yes. That is so fucking cool. That is so amazing. Metallica is my favorite, favorite band of all time.
It's transitions where it's like bao. I've seen the bass. I've seen the bass. Yeah.
I've seen the Namm again in the episode. I have like those transitions. Bao. It does make sense for you.
It's like metal and rock. I was heavily influenced. I was mostly used to cover the instruments for blues or R&B. I did stuff as well.
That is absolutely crazy. I haven't had a time to, I haven't had a time to, because normally I would have taken notes upon notes upon notes and on the back end of this film. But I really generally haven't had time. At the minute I caught my eye.
I was like, I say what else? I only did my toes in hashtag put the tip in to the facts. This is an hour podcast. I'll bring a little bit.
I'll bring a little bit. I just said that one. I thought it was like earlier. We were like perplexing.
Honestly, I love Metallica too. We're big Metallica. So when Anthony said that to me. And then you said like, oh, I've got something about the music.
Anthony was like, I'm doing it. I'm doing it with my fucking fingers. I'm like, oh God. Bless you.
That's crazy. I think the best way I can describe this movie is so much flier. If you're talking about the soundtrack as well. I know recently on the Instagram we did all the top five soundtracks.
And if I was going to like rethink it now, I've to listen to it again. This would break in the top five quite easily. This was an ass, right? This was an ass.
When we put our five to pull. Yes, it was. It was not many people. I mentioned it to be honest.
That's the scary thing. But I think it's one of those films now that's out there. The more people that watch it because there is a, I like to say, the certain films that you can rewatch over and over and over again. And you'll never kind of like really get tired of or there'll be elements that you kind of pick up or kind of like take from it as well.
This is hits all them buttons because it's some films you might enjoy. You'll see I can live without not watching this one for a while. As Nell said, I'm joins in the watches again now. I think it's like, I think it's definitely has an audience and it definitely made money.
I suppose it's always films are good based on how much they made. But they should have gone about this as well, isn't it? So I don't think it's going to get any awards. I don't think it's going to get any awards.
How is it gets boy card to everything? Yeah, because they'll change the genre. This won't be, I mean, there's an argument that it really isn't a horror film because there's too many too much complexity to it. But if it went into the Oscars and the likelihood it will, cinematography, score, everything, but acknowledging the writing, the acting in it, because that's what they do.
They'll check parts of it, but they won't acknowledge the main parts. The only one they've ever done that with is Jordan Peele. For some reason, Jordan Peele is the exception. But when it comes down to this, it will get picked up for a lot of the award ceremonies.
I think it's just... The first and the last one that really got awards wasn't it? They'll try and change that genre too. They always try to shift it because they don't want to acknowledge horror.
I don't know if they don't want to, or they say it's too lowbrow, but they don't want to see it. I don't know if they say it's too lowbrow, but they don't want to see it. The first of all, I'm supposed to say it's the biggest one, wasn't it? It's a thriller.
It's a thriller. I know you say that horror isn't complex. Horror is literally the most political genre out there because you can say exactly what the fuck you mean and all you need to do is make it really obscenely literal. It'll be like, this is a monster because what you're doing is monstrous.
Look back, guys, I've learned anything and now he's on a fucking political... Get on your soapbox! I'm on my soapbox! There is nothing about horror that it will not tell you straight to your face.
It's something that's bad thing. It will call a spade as fade. And if someone's an asshole, it'll say you're an asshole. And that's exactly what horror does.
So to go, actually, I think this really beautiful point on this movie can't be a horror. You're not watching many horror then clearly because how can you disrespect it like that? Sorry, how much more barefaced did you need the horror to be in there? It gets like three sand awards.
I'm probably going to be pissed, right? The thing is, as you said, with horror now, it's so difficult to change the one's perspective or even to scare someone in a way or make people feel comfortable. Fair enough, they always see a horror in comedy or the two house things to do and perform because it's hard to portray it being scared or make people laugh. Again, you can do a factual documentary or drama where certain things, or this is beautifully acted, put it up to Michael B Jordan here, who, as now said, had some of the best chemistry or even back and forth from himself, but he had no right to be able to do and then, again, have two different relationships with two different women who were both, like, different ways, like, different stuff.
Yeah, Michael B Jordan won on this film by the way. I keep forgetting these two different people. And he gets the sound like, yeah. I've seen any of the posts when the film came out between Haley Seinfeld and Michael B Jordan.
I don't know if you're on the fire, but everyone's been like, I'll be fucking. She just gets engaged just after this. Yeah, everyone's like, you can't really say that. And I was watching it all, like, eating it.
I was like, oh, this will be fucking juicy. One person that we haven't mentioned as well, Miles Capen has a great trip to my performance as well. It's so understated. What else has he been doing?
That's it. That's fucking mental. So he's said earlier about when they're in the car and, like, so I'm telling his story and everything. The bit where they're in the car and he starts playing the guitar and then he starts singing.
The way it makes him money. The way he turns around and he'll tell him, honestly, it gives me shivers. No, he'll be action. It's the first army.
So it looked like a genuine reaction. It's always like a real reaction. So we're going to do this. Like, you know, I've got a referencing.
So it's like a given reference where they saw the ship for the first time. They got a real reaction. So when the kids go into the water, that's the first time they see this ship. That's a genuine reaction.
So again, I love it when they do stuff like that. I think that's how it should be. In it, chapter one, when Stars guard in the room, when any breaks his arm, that's the first time they ever see Bill as Pennywise saw the reaction out of Finn Wolfhard and Jin Watsiesby as the genuine terrify reactions. Yeah.
It's all just sanded. I saw a video, and he's just like, whoa, and he's going to end. And then he goes, okay. You're all right.
You're okay. It's so fucking gorgeous. I'm so sorry. No, I'm not.
I'm a sledge. I said anyone watched the welcome story. Yes. Yes.
We've been seeing the first episode and we haven't watched anything else. Dot dot dot. No spoilers. It's just stick.
You've got you're going to have to stick with it. So I'm glad to see you. I'm not going to lie. Yeah.
I actually enjoy it because it brings a level of ridiculous to it where I'm like, I actually like it. I love me also. If I'm quite honest, and there's a lot, I'm in a few Stephen King groups and there's a lot of people not happy with law changing and yeah. And but for me, I'm honestly, I'm just there for the ride and that's the Stars guard the best.
Do you know the fire when Remick dies at the end of this film? I don't remember that swirling fire and blasting off into the space. It wasn't fucking great. I thought it was absolutely beautiful.
Pawn Dan. Get off fucking this film's dick. No, I was listening to this. Thank you very much.
No, listen, I just thought that I couldn't. I think it could have done 30 days of night peel away skin. I looked at the same glory. You've got more like guitar going.
I was like, this like, this spiraling. Oh, yeah. It was almost like it was almost like he was being reclaimed by something and I'm fucking. I'm not going to be on damage, don't you?
No, because I don't think that's what it is. I don't think that's what it is. I do not think that's what it is. I don't think this film is obviously it has like the religious connotations.
However, I don't think it is talking about heaven or hell. I don't think that's what it is because in the end, Preacher boy, you talk about heaven. He doesn't pick. It's more of the veil, isn't it?
It's about like the other dimension or like going to another plane, I think. And he says that we'll be waiting in heaven for you. She's waiting on the other side, don't they? I don't see it.
You're on the other side. She says I've got someone waiting for us on the other side. On the other side. Nothing.
I'm going to go through it. She's waiting for you, too. And when he's dressed all in white, come on, guys. I know again with symbolism, but it's just how you then perceive it as well as the thing.
That's what she believes in, then surely that's what she's getting. We don't know what she believes in. We're assuming that that is what she's believing in right now. Who gives a fox?
She's got a baby! I'm sorry. She's trying to be gay. I was sorry.
I did not remember it being so swearly. I thought you were there. I agree with that. I agree with you.
I agree because the Facebook, you will be thinking the next timeen there's a sweaty fire. I'm like, oh, okay. When it comes to like vampire's blown up, I don't think anyone's ever done it better than 30 days a night. Yeah.
Do you know what? In 30 days a night, I am distracted though. There is this one bit of ash that constantly just flapping on his head. And every time I watch it, I just concentrate on that one bit.
And he's having like this really beautiful conversation, like saying goodbye to it. But there's just one bit of ash that's like, on his head and that's all I'm looking at. It's been a while since I've seen it for the next time I watch it. That's all I'm going to be focused on.
Yeah. I'm so sorry. I've just come from that. I'm coming to change nails and name the dogs.
Just like dogs from up there. It's all scrawns. Yeah. That is literally what I'm like.
I remember going to the cinema to watch 30 days a night. And I remember it for Sammy. Sammy, I remember watching and I really loved the film and I remember sitting down and being like, this is great. And then that last bit of the end, I was like, I didn't hear anything he said.
Just saw his skin flapping. Yeah. I was just watching one bit. Maybe your sex tape.
Yeah. But yeah, it is. Because we made it. Because we talked about like, we don't want to see, like, again, it doesn't feel like this film needs to see.
I am interested in the world. Yeah. That's where I'm hard to like, and that's why I was meeting the point earlier. Like, this is a vulnerable.
This film that's just being bought out by Netflix. Yeah. Fucking TV shows like everything is now. You're right, Paul.
But if they do like a TV show like they did, they just sold on TV show. I'm boycotting it because that just sold on TV. It didn't even happen. I'm sorry.
I'm sorry. I build a vodel armor and it was great. Oh, no, it didn't. Yeah.
It did. It did. It was a fun one. I've seen any of them.
I've literally only ever seen the first one. There's a pretty lot of last time. Well, three years. Yeah.
Let's not talk about last while he's already lost credibility this year over that film. Yeah. Do we not like it? That is not something we love it.
But I went on the podcast and literally, I'm not going to talk about this. And literally lead into it, not realizing what I was doing, but also at the same time was saying people's names wrong. Yeah. Oh, any credibility I had, I lost it all.
I lost it all. I lost it all. I was the characters or the actors. Yeah.
But why not? I did that. I'm not right enough. So we did it.
Yeah. But Anthony doesn't know any of the vampires name. But that's the running joke for me is that since episode one, I don't do names. Let's go.
You know the, I'm not going to be with that. Can I get away with that? Because that's all I did. I called everyone David.
What was the one you called? Oh my God. I'm so Bradley. Oh, no, I've met Bradley and he calls him Brad.
I don't know. I can't have every time I'm not Brad. Which one is Brad. Well, there's no one to me.
I mean, James is another cracker though, isn't it? It was in kill switching age, running. Only grabs will get the joke. Everyone's laughing.
Hey! Yeah. I lost a lot of credibility. You know, me skin started to go like I started to get more colour to me fierce.
Me hair started to go like just called goth crangers one straight away. I didn't even do it on me one podcast either. I did it on someone else's. David speaks to David.
Yeah. And David with all them. I had some really good points. I just lost it all by seeing the ronium.
No one else really talks about anyone's name. It's only David and Michael that their names on the Frog Brothers. And you can find the link to that episode of that. But like no one talks about the Dunpies names.
No. Do they? Like no one ever talks about those things. Like one of the vampires names is Paul.
Paul. Paul. You mean David? David again.
Not a great vampire name. Can't I. I'll build Phil and Ted. Yeah.
That's Marko. Marko. Oh, I feel so much better now. Thanks guys.
You're welcome. That's look at names. So I'm terrible. Now his name wrong.
So does my mom and I'm already trying to take a look at that. And that's why she stopped at one. So as I said at the start, I think this would be quite fit in with it around it as well. How would you class this movie?
Because I said, I think it is a disservice to a nearby movie book. How would you class it? Can I be a little bit controversial? Because this is not my favorite film of the year.
No, no, that's not. It doesn't even hit the top five for me. And that's nothing against this film. But there has been a lot that has come out this year in the world of horror that has opened my eyes a little bit more.
I am not a body horror person until this year and what we've gotten out of it. So because of the likes of ugly stepsister and I see the one call, which I always get the name wrong, bring her back and together this kind of gets knocked down. And I'm not saying it's a terrible film because it really isn't. It's absolutely stunning.
It's breathtaking that the symbolism in it to be acting in it, the cinematographer, the the color palette, Jesus Christ, I didn't even get a chance to talk about the color palette in the world. But he can make a red look so fucking beautiful. Oh, yeah. And the choice of keeping red is a signature color throughout the whole film really, really enhances that level of warmth.
You feel that Mississippi sun burning on you because of the color palette that you've chosen this film. So I'm not, it's not, it's not my favorite. But it was all right. Pretty good.
What would you class it as though? If you were classing it as like, cause- Oh, you didn't ask what I thought of it. All right. But when we do, we can just chop the, you've just- Cheers.
That's a book to previous. We don't edit it so it's fine. Oh, nice. What would I class it as?
Yeah, what kind of movie would it be? Donra. No, no, I'm not. I wouldn't class it as a vampire.
I think it's more of a period piece. Yeah, definitely. Maybe Fokkara? Yeah.
Oh, I like that. Chris likes Fokkara. Yeah. Or he doesn't.
Yeah, it's a good book. I thought it was three different films in one. There's like the Gangster film. The vampire part.
And then there's the historical time piece. So I think it's like a three in one. But Fokkara kind of gets it in there because it's its own class of vampire as well, isn't it? Yeah.
It is. No, I think it is because I think Fokk is basically where it's a story that is passed down, isn't it? And like, where do we get all the stories from Al Capone from if they're not things that will pass down that stories of retold over and over and over again? I think Fokkara is perfect for it in every aspect.
Has anyone seen Gangster New York? Yes. Yeah. This felt like that.
No, I'm going to get my bike. I'm afraid of getting into the pool. I'll build a butcher and do it as a vampire. No, don't do it as a vampire.
No, don't do it as a vampire. No, don't do it as a vampire. No, don't do it as a vampire. No, don't do it as a vampire.
Just chomping the scenery. I'm okay with I'm okay with Daniel Lewis. That man knows not to perform. I'm a guy.
They call him Daniel Martin. Did you ever see him Lincoln with him in? Yeah. Did you understand a word that was going on in that film?
