This talk was given by Scott McKay on our Church family weekend. It was part of a series of 4 on Leviticus. This talk was based on Leviticus 4:1-5:13. Some question you could discuss after you listen to the talk: 1a) What are the different ways the Bible refers to sin? 1b) What ideas is each of these descriptions seeking to convey? 2) Read James 3:1. How is James in agreement with Leviticus 4? What does this mean for our church? 3) “Sin takes us farther than we want to go and holds us there longer than we want to stay and makes us pay more than we intended to pay” - Discuss. 4) How does 1 Corinthians 5 ground some of the teaching of Leviticus 4:1-5:13? 5) Looking at the three case studies (5:1-13) what sins may fall into these categories for us today? 6a) What are the steps that we should take according to this sacrifice? 6b) How do these steps help us as followers of Christ? 6c) Think of each step individually and consider how they work out in practice.
