Writer and tsunami scientist, Kaya Wilson, tells the story of a horrific accident that hit the accelerator on his decision to transition from the gender he was assigned at birth. On a beautiful spring day in 2016, Kaya packed his board in his van, headed off to the beach, and went surfing. As he jumped off his board and into a wave, he went headfirst into a sandbank and broke his neck. Doctors expected that Kaya would be paralysed from the head down. As he contemplated life’s fragility, Kaya was empowered to listen to his body and transition to life as a man. He has since written about his story in his memoir, As Beautiful As Any Other. +++I’m at a Crossroad was made on Bidjigal and Gadigal land. You might remember me from my podcast about life as a small-town sex worker with high academic aspirations, Stripcast: True Stories from a Stripper with a PhD.Today, I'm coming at ya with My Favorite Fck Up!, a brand new four-part series featuring twelve women from all walks of life spilling stories about their wildest, most delicious, most heart-breaking, and most beloved fck-ups, told before a live audience at a beach house on the shores of North Carolina at Stripcoast, my annual retreat for women looking to for the permission to embody that badass firecracker she keeps hidden inside. Explicit I'm Trying But... I'm a very broken, troubled, soul. I feel like I have imprisoned myself by some very bad choices that I can't seem to undo. I have gone through things from my childhood that I've piled up and are now resurfacing. I don't sleep well, my body feels like it's going to shut down soon and it's frustrating. To the outside world, I am happy, extroverted and bubbly, to myself I am barely surviving and I'm at the verge of losing it. This podcast is my therapy, to just take you through my nights that are the hardest parts of my 24hours. Hopefully, I'll be okay one day, but now, I'm at the verge of losin Explicit A Dose of Common Sense A Dose Of Common Sense Making sense out of the confusion of mobile technology..Ranting about nonsense of mobile devices AND the accessories that shouldn't be anywhere near them! Here's where I share fiction chosen from the public domain, or sent to me by authors for this purpose, one chapter at a time. I'm usually using it to implement my latest coaching session, fiddle with my tech settings, or just happily read to myself in the safety of my padded box. I post the link to the manuscript I'm using in each chapter description just in case you'd like to read along. I don't proof these like I would an audiobook so if you're reading along....well, be gentle ;) Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/melissa-green31/support Explicit
