I WISH THEY ALL COULD BE CALIFORNIA GIRLS! (QUENTIN LOVE)

from AthCastMusic: The Music of Athens GA, Now and Then

WELCOME TO ATHCASTMUSIC: THE MUSIC OF ATHENS GA, NOW AND THEN. Quentin Love, is an up-and-coming musician based in the Athens, Georgia. He describes himself as a “songwriter and musician. I play everything on my records and produce them myself.” He maintains he doesn’t have a select style of music. “However, if you have heard Quention, which you should, he definitely has some vintage Californian music. I definitely caught wind of Brian Wilson in many of his songs. This is Quentin’s first podcast, and he talks about why he records by himself, where he started his life on this planet and what’s in the future There are a total of 7 previous released EP's and albums, with his 8th and newest called “Music Box.” Here is me with this rising Athens Musician, Quentin Love.Listening to Quentin continuously reminds me of the young and talented musicians and bands we have here in Athens. I repeat myself many times, it must be over 200 when all is said and done. Quentin is truly remarkable in his abilities to work on these albums himself and how good they sound. A lot of musicians will still record on four track cassette. It’s crazy but it’s true. I have Quentin’s contact and some other info about him in my liner notes. Now to the heavy part…..Today is the end of season 5 of AthCastMusic. I always take a sabbatical of 3-4 months after each season. Usually that time allows me to rest, put together guests for the next season and decide on how I’d like my podcast to continue. But I have more to think about today. Today is the last time at Tweed Recording and working with Kayla Dover, my engineer from day 1. Kayla and I fit together like peanut butter and jelly! But Kayla’s work just gets better and better and she has to focus on the unbelievable things going on at Tweed Recording. I cannot thank Andrew Ratcliffe enough for giving me this incredible space to record in and Kayla jumping in as my engineer with a vengeance. I will miss working with her! What this means is, I have to reevaluate whether I move forward with some of the ideas I’ve already had, change the format of the podcast or just say “I did it!” and engage in more activities and people in my life. I’ve decided to put some feelers out there and gather some thoughts and then look deep into my heart and decide if I should continue. Make no mistake about it though, I LOVE this baby of mine called AthCastMusic and the decisions are difficult no matter which way I go. Until then, this is Marlene Sokol Stewart, and this is my Podcast, AthCastMusic..BUT REMEMBER ...IF YOU DON'T LISTEN, YOU CAN'T HEAR!AthCastMusic (©): The Music of Athens Georgia, Now and ThenSEASON:5 EPISODE: 60LENGTH: 46:30PUBLISHED: THURSDAY, MAY 28UPDATED BI - WEEKLY ON THURSDAYSENGINEER: KAYLA DOVERRECORDED AT TWEED RECORDING AUDIO PRODUCTION SCHOOLPHOTOS BY: MARLENE SOKOL - STEWART & KAYLA DOVERPRODUCER: MARLENE SOKOL STEWARTCONTACT FOR ATHCASTMUSIC:EMAIL: [email protected]: AthCastMusicFACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61550294283019TO CONTACGT QUENTIN LOVE: https://quentinlove.bandcamp.comIG: QUENTIN_LOVE516
