Y2K! is Ice Spice’s upcoming debut studio album, following her January 2023 debut EP, Like..?. The term “Y2K” is slang for the time period between 1999 and 2000. Ice Spice is notably a Y2K girl, as she was born on January 1, 2000.The album was first teased by Ice herself on November 24, 2023, where she took to social media revealing the project’s official title and hinting a 2024 release:Y2K! ?/?/24On January 25, 2024, Ice posted a presave link on Twitter with the cover art. The link would redirect to the highly anticipated snippet, “Think U The Shit (Fart),” which released the following day, serving as Y2K!’s lead single.Ice has officially announced the album in an interview with the Today Show. On February 8, 2024, CDs and LPs were available for pre-order via her official store, stating that the cover art and tracklist is soon to revealed.Then on March 5, 2024, it was revealed that Ice Spice had finished recording the album. A month later, Ice Spice teased through her Instagram page of her in the studio with Central Cee, hinting on his involvement on the album.“Gimmie A Light” would then be released on May 10, 2024, serving as the album’s second single.On June 5, 2024, Ice revealed the release date of the album, alongside with the artwork through her social media pages. “Phat Butt” would then be released on June 21, 2024, as the album’s third single.“Did It First” with Central Cee would then be released on July 11, 2024, serving as the album’s fourth single.
