Nell’aprile del 1990, il corpo di Domenico Semeraro — noto come “il Nano di Termini” — fu ritrovato strangolato in una discarica a Corcolle, nella periferia romana. Tassidermista solitario e figura enigmatica, Semeraro aveva intrecciato un legame complesso con il giovane assistente Armando Lovaglio. Tra i due si insinuarono tensioni sottili, gelosie e dinamiche ambigue, fino al tragico epilogo.L’omicidio portò alla luce un universo intimo e disturbante, nascosto dietro una quotidianità ai margini. We shall also see how the civil conflicts of the first century BCE affected Rome and Roman identity, leading to Caesar, Pompey and others engaging in propaganda wars, as seen through competitive monumental building, and to some self-questioning in the literature of the period. Towards the end of the semester, we shall look at Rome’s lasting influence, and the way that we continue to represent Rome in Old Time Radio Nero Wolfe Adam Graham Join Host Adam Graham as he goes through all 27 Old Time Radio episodes of Nero Wolfe, providing his quirky commentary as he goes.
