Illegal street takeover leads to shooting, Pineville police say

A shooting left one person hurt during an illegal street takeover early Sunday morning on Park Road, according to the Pineville Police Department.Several cars were doing burnouts and "donuts" in the Park 51 Shops parking lot around 4 a.m., police said. Multiple 911 calls reported a large crowd, vehicles blocking traffic and possible gunshots. When police arrived, they found evidence of a street takeover and learned that a physical fight had broken out among several people.During the fight, a suspect pulled out a firearm and fired multiple shots, police said. At least one bullet hit a vehicle, while another hit a person in the leg.
