In this episode we chat to Abra Dickson White, one of our eight Future Labs Foundation Residency artists.  https://abra-dw.com/ https://www.instagram.com/abrawhat/ The Future Labs Foundation Residency emerged from our Future Labs workshop programme as a dedicated residency to support new or emerging artists. The Residency took place between September 2022 and April 2023, providing eight emerging artists with a substantial period for learning digital skills as well as time and technical support to produce new digital art work. Participating artists benefited from workshops delivered by digital artists and creative practitioners, enabling them to learn a range of digital technologies, to improve their digital skills, to update their knowledge and to boost confidence in the production of digital art. The new work produced by the selected artists during the residency was showcased at the Digital Arts Studios from 4th May - 1st June 2023. Our Future Labs Foundation Residency Artists are: Chloe Austin, Charlie Beare, Karen Browett, Abra Dickson White, Petra Dominova, Fiona Gordon, Sylwia Migdal, Rachel Wakefield- Drohan.

HDTV and Home Theater Podcast HT Guys The HT Guys, Ara Derderian and Braden Russell, are Engineers who formerly worked for the Advanced Digital Systems Group (ADSG) of Sony Pictures Entertainment. ADSG was the R&D unit of the sound department producing products for movie theaters and movie studios. Two of the products they worked on include the DCP-1000 and DADR-5000. The DCP is a digital cinema processor used in movie theaters around the world. The DADR-5000 is a disk-based audio dubber used on Hollywood sound stages. ADSG was awarded a Technical Academy Award by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 2000 for the development of the DADR-5000. Ara holds three patents for his development work in Digital Cinema and Digital Audio Recording. Every week they put together a podcast about High Definition TV and Home Theater. Each episode brings news from the A/V world, helpful product reviews and insights and help in demystifying and simplifying HDTV and home theater.
