In the books of history, we see God acting in real time – calling, covenanting, rescuing, and remaining faithful even when His people are not. In the poetry, we hear the heart of redeemed people learning to trust, lament, repent, and praise the God who saves. In the prophets, we are given God’s divine commentary on history – calling His people back to Himself and pointing forward to a coming King and a new covenant.
