The Lord’s table is a picture of peace in the midst of chaos.This is what the Lord offers us – the peace of Christ in the midst of the chaos that characterizes life east of Eden. This is also what the church is meant to be – a table set in a chaotic world (the hors d’oeuvres of the coming feast)!
