Sinfonía No. 5 en si bemol UNAM Franz Schubert (Viena, 1797-1828). Compositor, es uno de los músicos más destacados del romanticismo. Inició su formación musical con el violín y como alumno de Antonio Salieri en la Capilla Imperial. Desde joven mostró talento para la composición y se le conoce como el principal compositor de lieder, aunque también escribió óperas y sinfonías. Una de sus primeras piezas fue el lied ‘El rey de los elfos’, inspirado en un poema de Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Tras su muerte, Felix Mendelssohn reconoció su talento y dio a conocer su obra. La “Sinfonía No. 5 en si bemol” es una de las obras maestras de Schubert debido a su expresión clásica y al tratamiento instrumental cuya influencia remite a Mozart. Esta pieza está compuesta por cuatro movimientos y fue concluida en 1816 cuando Schubert contaba con 19 años de edad. Sin embargo, el estreno formal se llevó a cabo hasta 1841 en Viena, trece años después de la muerte del compositor austriaco. Esta versión fue interpretada por la Orquest
