Roland Olyphant began his career in 2006, initially embracing the underground music scene by playing minimal house. As he observed shifts in music and explored Western influences, he transitioned to crafting mellower, more melodic rhythms infused with ethnic and jazz elements, all while maintaining his unique aesthetic. A vinyl collector who adheres to the classic DJing approach, his record library boasts an up-to-date collection spanning groovy deep and tech house, techno, and modern minimal. Since 2009, in collaboration with the Double Sound team, Roland has been at the heart of St. Petersburg's nightlife, sharing the stage with renowned artists such as Fabiano, Gunnar Stiller, Kadebostan, Jin Choi, James Teej, and Dan Andrei. In 2016, Roland joined forces with fellow St. Petersburg DJ Lorum to form Ro.Lo. That same year, both DJs founded the TakaTaka project, presenting 'TakaTaka nights' across Russia. The 'TakaTaka podcast' series provides a window into the movement's intentions and ideas, featuring top sets by talented DJs and musicians. Roland Olyphant's refined taste and captivating stage presence have made him a popular DJ, frequently gracing the stages of St. Petersburg and embarking on extensive tours. His meticulously crafted DJ sets consistently capture the ambiance of each venue and the energy of the dancefloor. Currently focusing on music creation, Roland Olyphant is not just a DJ but also a producer of his own tracks.
