Nicolás Cespedes, better known as Nicc, was born 30 years ago in Bogotá. His musical roots were established at an early age; during school, he participated in cultural and musical events, performing traditional cumbias with their rhythmic base of congas and drums. Growing up, he was influenced by the music his mother loved, including salsa, Cuban son, boleros, and rancheras. Nicc’s journey into electronic music began midway through his career as an Architectural Designer in 2015. From that moment, his artistic focus shifted towards the collection and production of music, sparking an insatiable quest to find a sound uniquely his own. His sound is rooted in minimalist foundations, approached in a more eclectic manner than a single style of minimal sound. His DJ sets span Techno, House, Micro, Break, and Electro sounds, all with balanced, groove-driven variations. At the core, he stays true to the essence of minimalism, which is what he enjoys the most.
