A third brutal mauling sends ripples of fear, skepticism, and curiosity through the inhabitants of a small town in South Florida — although none of Val's classmates at Sweetcrest County College seem to be taking it seriously. Despite the warnings, Val's friends convince her to go to a party that's being thrown off campus where Val learns that not all monsters are what they seem.
