Today Hina speaks with Marco Robinson, a number 1 best-selling author, entrepreneur of the year winner, prime time TV creator and host, coach, award winning film maker and actor! KEY TAKEAWAYS Marco had a difficult childhood, including having to sleep rough with his mum when leaving his abusive father and his mum getting into another abusive relationship a few years later. At 15 Marco left his home with no qualifications and worked multiple jobs and sofa surfed. He didn’t have any particular aspirations, he was just trying to survive. Marco began dancing and this started to change his mindset, he stopped asking himself why he was a loser and started asking himself instead, what do I need to do to be successful? After being mentored by another sales person and truly changing his mindset Marco became an incredible sales person! After a marriage breakdown and a heart attack Marco decided he didn’t want to work for anyone else anymore and became a serial entrepreneur.  Marco says people aren’t searching for money, they are searching for meaning. They want to know WHY they are getting up in the mornings. Marco has been knighted for his work with the blind in Malaysia, he made a viral film highlighting the difficulties for blind people being unable to use guide dogs in public. The law was subsequently changed impacting so many blind people’s lives for the better. Be careful who you surround yourself with. Be mindful of who you spend time with and who you share to as in Marco’s words ‘a lot of people are fucked up’. You’ve got to be around people who understand you and are there for you.
