Power of now As we think of the phrase power of now," our mind immediately goes to Eckhart Tolle's book, "The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment." It's a book that has resonated with many people, myself included. The idea of living in the present moment, of fully embracing the now, is something that has the potential to transform our lives. In the power of now, there is a sense of surrender, of letting go of the past and the future, and fully immersing ourselves in the present moment. It's a concept that can be both simple and profound. Simple because it's about being fully present in whatever we are doing, whether it's eating, walking, or even just breathing. Profound because it reminds us that the present moment is all we ever have and that true peace and happiness can only be found in the now. But oh, how challenging it can be to truly live in the power of now. Our minds are constantly racing, filled with thoughts of the past and the future. We worry about what has happened, what will happen, and we often miss out on the richness of the present moment. We get caught up in regrets and what-ifs, and we forget to truly experience life as it is happening right now. And yet, when we do manage to tap into the power of now, when we are fully present and aware, there is a sense of freedom and aliveness that is indescribable. It's as if we are truly living, rather than just going through the motions. We become acutely aware of the beauty and wonder that surrounds us. The colours seem brighter, the sounds more vibrant, and even the simplest things can bring us immense joy. In the power of now, there is a deep connection to ourselves and to the world around us. We become attuned to our own inner wisdom, to the guidance that comes from within. We trust our instincts and intuition, and we make decisions with clarity and purpose. We let go of the need to control everything and instead surrender to the flow of life. But embracing the power of now is an ongoing practice. It requires patience and mindfulness. It means constantly bringing our attention back to the present moment, gently letting go of thoughts and distractions that pull us away. It means cultivating a sense of gratitude for the here and now, for the gift of being alive. So, I invite you to explore the power of now in your own life. Take a moment to pause, to breathe, and to fully immerse yourself in the present moment. Notice the sensations in your body, the sounds around you, and the thoughts that arise. Allow yourself to be fully present, without judgment or expectation. In the power of now, you may discover a profound sense of peace and joy.
