Investigation launched after election posters vandalised in North Leitrim

An investigation has been launched after a number of election posters were vandalised in North Leitrim over the weekend.With just a few days into the campaign, a number of posters belonging to Fianna Fail candidate Edel MacSharry and Sinn Fein candidate Martin Kenny were discovered defaced in Drumkeeran and Dromahair. The matter has been reported to Gardai.Outgoing Sinn Fein Sligo Leitrim TD Martin Kenny has described it as an attack on democracy:
