Today, Thursday October 29 - James gives us a wonderful promise in James 1:5, that if we need wisdom, if we need guidance and help in making the tough decisions in life, as we ask God for it, He will give us the wisdom without condemning us.  But in the next verse, James gives us a condition in the way we ask.  We must ask in faith!  And then he promises us, that if we are double-minded, for sure we won't get any of our prayers answered. Sometimes, when someone asked me why God is not answering their prayers, I'm tempted to ask them, "Are you being double-minded?"  To be double-minded means to be, "double-souled".  That is, to have one part of your heart in the world and the other part in the Word or in God.  One day you are trying to live for God in obedience, but the next day you are living for self and the world.  James says you are like a wave of the sea, that is mindless, that is being tossed whatever way the wind is blowing!  My friend, a faith that is genuine, is a faith that is consistently focus on the Lord and His Word!  Today, please ask yourself what kind of mind do you have.  Then ask the Lord to give you grace to surrender your all in obedience to Him and His Truth!
