James is a journalist, writer and broadcaster.He has written for outlets including The Guardian, New Statesman and UnHerd to name a few and is host of ‘The Modern Dating Economy Podcast’.He has written two books: ‘The Myth of Meritocracy: why working-class kids get working class jobs’ published in 2016 and ‘Hired: Six Months Undercover in Low-Wage Britain' published in 2019.In this episode we discuss James’s journey into journalism, a discussion of both of his books and the mental health topics they discuss, masculinity in the modern age, dating, gym culture and lookism.
