Jehovah-Nissi - The Banner of God's Presence

Today, Friday August 14 - Jehovah-Nissi, The LORD is our Banner!  No sooner than Israel began their wilderness journey, they were attack by Amelek.  Moses commissioned Joshua to lead the Israelite army to fight them.  I remind you that "Joshua" is the Hebrew name for Jesus - Savior, Deliverer.  Amelek is the flesh, our old carnal nature that attacks us especially when we are tire and weak. Deuteronomy 25:17-18 "Remember what Amalek did to you on the way as you were coming out of Egypt, how he met you on the way and attacked your rear ranks, all the stragglers at your rear, when you were tired and weary; and he did not fear God."  Moses went up on a nearby hill and lifted up the Rod of God over his head, and as long as it was lifted up, Joshua prevailed over Amelek. The Rod of God is the Banner of God's Presence and Protection over our lives.  My prayer today is that you and I will experience God as Jehovah-Nissi and we will put our trust in Him!  God bless!
