Jehovah-Rapha - Experiencing God's Forgiveness

from Pastor Mike Impact Ministries · host Michael L Grooms

Today, Saturday August 8 - Jehovah-Rapha, The LORD Who Heals! I've always thought that one of the greatest emotions that a human being can have is the emotion of knowing "I am forgiven." The feeling of guilt is no longer there. Maybe I feel this way because I'll never forget the day, February 21, 1971, that Jesus forgave me for all of my sins and took away all the guilt and filth in my life! I've been told that in many of the pagan languages of the world, they have no word for forgiveness. It is a foreign concept to them. To release someone from the offence they committed against you when they don't deserve it and are not even sorry for the pain they caused you is really humanly impossible. This kind of forgiveness is only available through understanding and accepting the Biblical teaching about it. Forgiveness is only available in both Old and New Testament because an acceptable sacrifice has been made. All the OT sacrifices pointed to Jesus, God's perfect Sacrifice. God can only forgive me because I have accepted Jesus as the sacrifice for my sins and guilt. And that really is the only way I can forgive those who have offended me. Ephesians 4:32 "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you." God bless!
