Jill O'Sullivan - Jill Lorean

In this episode, Jill O' Sullivan tells Clare about music and why she does it. She is currently performing as Jill Lorean, and she has just released the excellent album Peace Cult. In a previous musical life, she was the singer and guitarist with Sparrow and Workshop. They were Radio 6 darlings, had a record deal, and toured with Idlewild and the Pogues. But they stopped. Jill tells Clare why. She also tells Clare about being introduced to music in the Chicago school system, what it meant, and how it felt. They talk about growing up in an Irish family that couldn't see the arts as a career. And they discuss how Jill has found a way to continue to do music in a way that better suits her life, as the industry and her own priorities from those early days have changed.
