Joshua Coburn - Purveyor of positivity

from The Glorious Beard Podcast · host JXB Media

How do you turn life around when you first believed it wasn't worth living in the first place? What do you do when you have no other choice but to do for yourself? Whats its like searching for your fathers corpse in the freezing cold? All of these questions and more today. WARNING:This episode features sensitive topics like self harm, self abuse or the premature ending of life. Listener discretion is advised and supervision of younger audiences is encouraged.Joshua Coburn didn’t come out of a scene, a movement, or any kind of built-in support system. He came out of a small agricultural town in Iowa where working young wasn’t optional and standing out usually meant getting pushed to the side. He was the kid people described as responsible but strange. He started working early, moved through jobs that most people wouldn’t touch, and got heavily tattooed at a time when that still carried consequences, especially in a place that didn’t understand it.That tension shaped a lot of what followed. Coburn talks about how being visibly different in a small town environment led to isolation and eventually internalizing the things people said about him and into a point where he seriously considered ending his life, and what pulled him out of it wasn’t outside intervention so much as a shift in perspective. What looks now like a steady stream of positive messaging started as a personal system and deliberately choosing difficult paths, not out of obligation but because of the belief that that’s where growth actually happens. All this and more on todays episode of The Glorious BeardALL THINGS GLORIOUS: https://linktr.ee/thegloriousbeardGET 15% OFF YOUR ORDER at Men Matter and Co when you use the promo code GLORIOUSPOD at checkout.
