In this episode, we explore the idea that our overstimulated minds often miss the depth of sensation in every moment, leading to a state of sensory emptiness. We discuss strategies to reconnect with our senses, starting with identifying a single sensation and focusing our attention on it. We talk about the challenges of this process, such as the flood of judgments that can drown out the sensation and how to navigate them. We also discuss the importance of building a sensory vocabulary and how this can lead to a deeper connection with our bodies and, ultimately, greater intimacy. Tune in to learn how to train your mind to follow sensation and erotic truth and how this can transform your relationship with your body and the world around you.

Eros and Psyche by Robert Bridges Loyal Books Bridges’ Eros and Psyche retells the Eros (= Cupid) and Psyche myth first recorded by Lucius Apuleius in his book The Golden Ass. The poem is divided into twelve cantos – one for each of the twelve months of the year – which gives the poem a certain, almost “pastoral” feel. The number of stanzas in each canto equals the number of days in that month: so the first canto March has 31 stanzas, the second canto April has 30 stanzas, and so on. Each stanza is a septet (ie comprises exactly seven lines) which follow the same end-rhyming schema of a-b-a-b-c-c-b.
