People across the Carolinas are assessing the damage after severe storms moved through the area. Severe thunderstorm watches and warnings were issued for parts of the Charlotte area as a line of strong storms moved across the Carolinas Wednesday afternoon, then again early Thursday morning.Wednesday, Gaston County officials said a person was killed when a tree fell on a car.
