Kentucky Weather March 4 Morning - Record Cold

from The Kentucky Weather Podcast

Good morning. Kentucky. I'm Aaron Jolly. That steady rain overnight left us with soggy ground and patchy dense fog this morning. Visibility could drop to half a mile or less in spots, so take it slow on the commute. A Flood Watch remains in effect until 1 P.M. For our northernmost counties, where 1 to 3 inches of rain have already fallen. In the next 24 hours. North Central Kentucky sees showers and thunderstorms through midday, with a brief lull this afternoon. Highs reach 70 degrees — that's about 46 degrees warmer than normal for early March. Central Kentucky follows a similar script with storms likely this morning and again this evening. South Central Kentucky climbs to 77 degrees with just a chance of storms early. Eastern Kentucky hits 75 degrees with scattered showers possible through the afternoon. Tonight, storms continue north of the Mountain Parkway while southern areas stay quieter. Lows hold in the upper 50s to low 60s. Thursday brings another round of showers and storms statewide as a warm front lifts north. Friday looks like the pick day — partly sunny with highs near 80 degrees. We could challenge record highs. Enjoy it. Because Saturday a strong cold front sweeps through with widespread storms and a temperature crash. Highs Saturday reach the low 70s, then drop into the 40s by Sunday morning. Sunday clears out with highs in the mid-60s. Monday and Tuesday warm back into the 70s with another chance of storms by Tuesday. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
