This person had started the ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting and was feeling depressed. Why would this happen?   What causes depression on keto? - It may be because of a nutritional deficiency.    Healthy keto and intermittent fasting are supposed to make your mood go up. If you’re having depression while on keto, or depression while doing intermittent fasting, you may have nutritional deficiencies. If you have any type of subclinical nutrition deficiency, it will be magnified when you do intermittent fasting, and sometimes when you do keto as well.    Nutrition deficiencies that can cause depression while on keto:  1.
