(00:00 - 21:22) - Jake informs Marc that Professional wrestling is fake. The St. Louis Battle Hawks defeated the Seattle Sea Dragons in their XFL matchup last night. The XFL's rule changes are seemingly fun to watch even if it isn't considered to be top-tier talent in the league. Despite the loss, the Pacers game last night against the Boston Celtics was a fun one to watch. This is a big weekend for college basketball, including IU vs. Purdue. IUPUI defeated Robert Morris, snapping a four game losing streak. Aaron Rodgers is becoming more of a burden off the field compared to helpful on the field. (21:23 - 29:36) - Morning Checkdown (29:37 - 47:44) - Alan Karpick of the On3 Network as well as GoldandBlack.com joins the program to talk about the big matchup with IU coming up in West Lafayette this Saturday. Karpick starts off by talking about what a week off for the Boilermakers basketball team could mean in this matchup. He views it as a new positive to reset and rest the team before a rough schedule. A win over IU this weekend paves the way for Purdue to win the Big Ten Championship. Will Mason Gillis get significant playing time against the Hoosiers? Karpick believes that Purdue can finish the season strong once they manage to control the ball better and mitigate turnovers. What teams could possibly give Purdue a hard time in the Big 10 or NCAA tournament? (47:45 - 1:11:05) - From one guest right into another as Greg Rakestraw calls in to talk about the IHSAA girls' basketball tournament going on right now. Rakestraw stresses the special moments that come from these tournaments and how both students and parents will form these lifelong memories that stick with them for life. The 1A and 3A finals are being played between teams that are next door neighbors making for heavy rivalries in these championship games. Marc transitions to the conversation to IU and Purdue happening on Saturday. Will Ball State make the NCAA tournament? Conversation closes with some Colts talk as Bubba Ventrone has officially departs for Cleveland. Rakestraw would have liked for the Colts to keep him, but understands that the primary issue is still with the Colts roster.   (1:11:06 - 1:31:54) - More Colts talk regarding the draft. When Jim Irsay said he liked the "Alabama Guy" did he mean Bryce Young, or another Alabama player? The bad news about being #1 going into the combine is that everyone is looking for a reason to make sure you are not that person anymore. C.J. Stroud and Will Levis could suddenly become huge names due to scrutiny that Bryce Young will face from the combine. Receivers are going to start selling like hotcakes around pick number 15. The Colts can't risk drafting an Ohio State player due to their history of bad luck with them. Would Arizona be willing to trade out in order to get more picks and acquire more depth. (1:31:55 - 1:35:28) - Seinfeld talk and a quick tease of the upcoming Don Fischer interview. (1:35:29 - 2:00:35) - Voice of the Hoosiers Don Fischer joins Jake and Marc to give another side of the IU vs. Purdue matchup taking place this Saturday. Jake wants to know if the Hoosiers can plug Xavier Johnson back in after injury and if he can pick up where he left off. Fischer believes that Johnson's absence has been their primary missing piece defensively. Regardless, Johnson likely will not be back for the Purdue game and is slated to possibly be available for the future Iowa matchup. Trace Jackson-Davis may not be as tired as people think he is and just had a rough night against Michigan. Jake wants to know if any type of team is IU's kryptonite. Fischer believes that it is just the consistency of the players that has lead to the Hoosier's shortcomings this season. IU's track record at home is amazing with only one loss this season but they are away at Purdue where they have struggled this year.(2:00:36 - 2:11:17) - Pop Quiz. (2:11:18 - 2:25:04) - A little extra trivia as Jake reveals New Jersey is the only state with a non-public university that uses the state in its name. Universities now have robots delivering food on campus. Weekend plans, Jake is going to Kansas, Marc is going to Chicago.Support the show: https://1075thefan.com/the-wake-up-call-1075-the-fan/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
