Revelation 1 What do you know about the last book of the Bible? For some, the book of Revelation has become almost traumatic. Not because of what it actually says, but of the people who like to guess at what it says from behind the pulpit.  A lot of people, even pastors, do not realize that the book of Revelation is not about what the Illuminati may or may not be doing. Rather it’s a book about what Jesus is doing.  Jesus is going to come back, Jesus is going to take over, and Jesus is going to establish a new heaven and a new earth and dwell with his people forever (chapters 4-22)! Until then, he is pastoring his church through revitalization (chapters 1-3).  That’s the basic shape of Revelation.  In Revelation 2-3 Jesus, like a pastor, speaks directly to 7 churches in Asia Minor. He commends their good, he corrects their bad, and he gives them instructions for revitalization.  His goal for them is spiritual health. His plan for them is to be a lampstand for the Light of the World. If we will listen to what the Spirit says to the churches, he will lovingly guide US toward that end - until the very end.
