Summary
There are many problems and issues impacting the black community. The biggest problem is a majority of black Americans do not have knowledge of self. Meaning there is a lack of self identity. There have been many black historians, authors, anthropologists, scientists, metaphysicians that have due diligence researching, sharing and preserving black history. Unfortunately most people only know about slavery with black history. However many are not aware of the psychological effects of trauma from slavery. This has also affected the public perception of black masculinity. We need to be aware of positive movements and organizations such as The Association for the study of Classical African Civilizations (ASCAC). We must have more communal support and understand the African diaspora on a global scale. We have to understand in 2019 black Americans are not oppressed or victims. We need to go from Poverty Consciousness to Race Consciousness.
