Mohammad endured persecution, bullying, and physical abuse from his family, who fully rejected him because of his sexual orientation. In Saudi Arabia, the pain didn’t stop, as the police raided his home, confiscated all his personal belongings, and arrested him simply because he wasn’t “masculine enough” in their eyes. But the story didn’t end there; the authorities fabricated a lie, claiming he was from the Houthis, to justify torturing and imprisoning him. Mohammad shares his suffering and reveals how people from the LGBTQ+ community in the region face not only social oppression but also legal violations and arbitrary arrests.
