Lack of affordable North West homes now "a crisis"

The Government's failure to deliver affordable homes in Sligo and Leitrim has been described as a “crisis”.Local Sinn Féin TD Martin Kenny has been making the claims after it emerged earlier this year after exactly zero local authority affordable purchase homes made available in either county in 2023.The government planned to deliver 9,100 new build homes, but instead 8,110 new build homes were delivered by Local Authorities and Affordable Housing Bodies.Deputy Kenny says the situation has led to many serious knock-on effects.
