Lake Wind Advisory | Georgia Weather Noon
from The Georgia Weather Podcast
Good afternoon! I'm Aaron Jolly. Welcome to the Georgia Weather Podcast for Wednesday, February 25th. Folks, Georgia is handing you a gift today. Grab it before the rain takes it back. Step outside right now and you'll feel 50 degrees with a southwest wind that means business. Gusts could punch up to 30 miles an hour across Metro Atlanta this afternoon. That wind will find every loose patio umbrella you forgot to tie down. A Lake Wind Advisory runs until 7 P.M. for eastern Georgia lakes. If you're on the water, keep it close to shore. Atlanta tops out at 62 degrees under mostly cloudy skies. Not bad for late February. Slide over to the coast and Savannah reaches 67 with some sun breaking through. Eastern Georgia matches that 67 with even more sunshine mixing in. Tonight everybody settles near 54 degrees statewide. Now the plot twist. Rain sneaks in after 1 A.M. in Atlanta. By Thursday morning, showers spread across the whole state. Eastern Georgia could see three quarters of an inch. Thunderstorms roll in Thursday night into Friday. The kind of evening where you keep your phone volume up for alerts. Looking ahead, Thursday and Friday stay soggy. Then high pressure muscles in like a bouncer clearing the dance floor. Saturday? Sunshine and 70 degrees. Sunday pushes 74. We're gaining over two minutes of daylight each day now. Spring equinox is just three weeks out. You can almost smell the azaleas. So today is your window. Walk the dog. Hit the Beltline. Eat lunch outside. Tomorrow you'll be dodging puddles. If this forecast helped you plan your afternoon, drop us a quick rating wherever you listen. Takes ten seconds and it means the world. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
